NOAH Server System Requirements
To run the NOAH Server you need an HTTP Server installed on a network computer or a computer
designated as the NOAH Server Computer (could be a Users computer if you are a small office).
The NOAH Server has been tested with the following Operating Systems and HTTP Servers:
- WIN XP PRO with Windows IIS (Internet Information Server) HTTP Server
- Windows Server 2003 R2 with Windows IIS HTTP Server
- WIN XP HOME with Apache HTTP Server
- Linux with Apache HTTP Server
If you want to run your NOAH Server on a WIN XP HOME edition OS, you might want to
use an Apache HTTP Server. Check out the binary downloads for Windows at
httpd.apache.org/download.cgi
or go to the
http://www.apache.org
website for more information.
NOTE: Apparently IIS in WIN XP PRO limits the number of concurrent connections
to 10. If this is an issue, you might want to look at the Microsoft
MetaEdit
utility to adjust this parameter to meet your requirements.
NOAH Client Scripting System Requirements
The NOAH Client Scripting program is not dependent on any other installed software.
Binaries for the NOAH Client software are available for both Windows and Linux OS's on the
download
page.
NOAH Client software has been
tested on WIN XP PRO and HOME. In WIN 98, the NOAH Client install program, which edits the registry
and generate shortcut icons, does not work. In WIN 98 the user must be knowledgeable enough to make his own
icons and 'right-click' menu entries.
